KARA'S STORY
One thing you need to know about Linda is that she always sees the bright side. Even when it is tempting to paint something in a bad light, she just doesn’t. And it’s not that she sees through rose colored glasses, it’s that she just truly sees the world that way. It comes through in her art that is somehow both whimsical and soulful, with a depth that you can’t quite put your finger on. How does she do it? How does she make us laugh at a chicken without making fun of a chicken? Linda creates an environment where everyone belongs and is seen and loved for exactly who they are.
Linda grew up in South Dakota and has fond childhood memories of a rustic family cabin nestled along French Creek in what is now Custer State Park. Time spent at this cabin with her loving aunt Connie and uncle Clarence gave space for the artist in her to start gathering her forces. Her love of being in nature and her joyful appreciation for the smallest and simplest of things keep Linda clear in her perspective as an artist and keep fueling that bright light that allows her to see life on the bright side. It is this bright light that brought the women of LYT to life.
At home, Linda can be found in her pottery studio or out enjoying her patio, plants and The Dude, her big gray cat. Oh, and Linda is Nichole’s mother, each as talented as the other! And the grandkids are the apple of her eye, each one more beautiful and talented than the next.
Love You Too Linda!
