One thing you need to know about Randvig is that she is hospitable. She gets up early so that someone is there to welcome the sun. She is the first to put the coffee on and offer it to the waking house. She greets everyone like they are a special guest or a long lost friend, even if it is a complete stranger waiting in line at the grocery store. She does not pretend she is not home when a solicitor comes to the door, she will offer coffee, get their whole story and find some connection with them. She is the first to create conversation at any gathering, happy to offer a story or ask a question to get the juices flowing. Her hospitality is coupled with her generosity and she will often host different groups in her home, preparing beautiful food and setting a beautiful table. Her drug of choice is new dishes.  

 

As a young girl growing up in rural Wisconsin, she once saw some weary travellers walking the road in front of their farm. She waved them in, so excited because Olga, her mother, had just made a raspberry pie. The travellers came in for pie and coffee. Later on the radio, an alert went out about the two fugitives on the run from the authorities. 

 

While she learned hospitality from her family, there is really no one that takes it to Randvig’s level. We think she was just born that way.  

 

We are blessed to have her on the LYT team, she is our best mouthpiece because she loves these women, and she talks to everyone.
